record uk in conjunction with ADSA and South Staffordshire College has enrolled 4 new apprentices to join the new scheme starting on the 15th March and is in the process of looking for more apprentices to join record in the summer.
Summary of Scheme
Length of Scheme - 24 months
Qualification - Level 2 Apprenticeship
Positions apprentices can achieve afterwards:
Automatic Door Technician/Engineer
Automatic Pedestrian Door Technician/Engineer
Automatic Door Service Technician/Engineer
Automatic Pedestrian Door Service Technician /Engineer
The Apprenticeship will provide apprentices with the relevant health and safety, electrical and mechanical training required to work within the Powered Pedestrian Automatic Door Industry, where an Installer or Servicer are involved in planning, preparing and safely carrying out work activities in door automation.
Completion of the scheme will enable apprentices to work on a range of automatic doors such as sliding, swing, curved, folding, security and revolving doors in a wide variety of environments including offices, retail stores, schools and universities, healthcare facilities, transport hubs, and financial institutions. Installations can range from new build to refurbishment projects.
As part of the training programme, key activities will include:
- Installing and maintaining doors
- Finding and fixing faults
- Safe removal of doors
- Gaining an understanding of the safe operation of automated doors
- Working independently and as part of a team
- Liaising with colleagues, other trades and end-users
The core skills and knowledge that apprentices will learn on this apprenticeship can be transferred to other industries such as steel doors, industrial doors, manual doors, security sectors and gates.
